What's the difference between planetary mixing and regular mixing?

Planetary mixing rotates the attachment around the bowl whilst the bowl stays still, ensuring every part of the mixture gets worked. Regular mixers just spin the attachment in one spot. Can this mixer handle bread dough and heavy mixtures?
